Frequently asked questions

How do I find the right Therapist?

Finding a therapist is easy, finding the right therapist for you begins with you trusting your instincts.

Embarking on therapy is a big step and it is important you feel comfortable with your therapist.

It is worthwhile taking the time to view several counsellors’ websites and profiles, and contacting those that you feel you may want to work with.

To get the most from the process, it is important that you feel you connect with your therapist, and it is key that you trust your instincts regarding this.

If you think you would like to work with me, I offer a free, no obligation 15 minute telephone or online (Teletherapy) consultation. Get in touch either by calling or texting me on 07487 681771 or by emailing me at Teresa@justustherapy.com.

What can I expect?

Therapy sessions last for 50 minutes for individuals and couples, and usually occur, initially, once a week. In our first session we will discuss what you want from therapy and talk about the counselling process.

I will not give you advice or solve problems for you. I will listen to you without judgement. Together we will explore your story to help you obtain a greater understanding of yourself, enabling you to gain control and to identify, understand and change unhelpful patterns in your life.

What do you charge?

As affordability varies, sessions are charged on a sliding scale that relate to your income.

Fees are typically between £60.00 and £80.00 for Individuals, and £85.00 to £115.00 for Couples.

During our initial 15 minute telephone or online (Teletherapy) consultation, we will discuss a session fee that you could comfortably commit to, enabling you to focus on your goal of therapy.

I do offer some concessions and discounted rates are available to Key Workers, Emergency Services/Armed Forces personnel and their families. I also offer a discounted rate to students.

48 hours notice is required to change or cancel an appointment, otherwise 50% of the session fee will be charged.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions you will need depends on what you wish to work on in our sessions. I offer both short term and long-term counselling.

Where are you located?

I offer both Face to Face and Online (Teletherapy) sessions.

Face to Face sessions are held in my comfortable therapy room in central Woking, opposite Woking mainline train station. Online sessions are conducted over the internet using a secure, encrypted platform. One of the benefits of online sessions being you are not tied to attending a fixed location.

My therapy room is conveniently located opposite Woking mainline train station. With frequent trains and an easy journey time of approximately 25 minutes from London Waterloo, you could be in the therapy room within 30 minutes of leaving London Waterloo.

The room is located on the first floor and unfortunately there is no lift.

There are several car parks serving Woking town centre, details of which can be found here: Woking Parking.
