How do I find the right Therapist?

Finding a therapist is easy, finding the right therapist for you begins with you trusting your instincts.

Beginning therapy is a big step so it is important you feel comfortable with your therapist.

It’s worthwhile to look at several counsellors’ websites or profiles and to contact those that you feel you can work with.

To get the best out of the process, you need to have confidence in your therapist and it is key that you trust your instincts.

If you think would like to work with me, I offer a free, no obligation 15 minute telephone consultation. Get in touch either by calling me on 07487 681771 or by emailing me at

What can I expect?

Therapy sessions last for 50 minutes for individuals, 1 hour for couples, and usually occur once a week. In our first session we will discuss what you want from therapy and talk about the counselling process.

I will not give you advice or solve problems for you. I will listen to your story, helping you to understand yourself better so you can identify and change unhelpful patterns in your life.

What do you charge?

Charges are on a sliding scale that relate to your income.

Individual sessions: Between £65.00 and £80.00 per session.

Couples sessions: Between £95.00 and £110 per session.

If you are on limited finances, we can talk about this during our initial 15 minute telephone consultation and discuss an amount you could comfortably commit to on a weekly basis, allowing you to focus on your goal of therapy.

I do offer some concessions and I offer a discounted rate if you pay for 6 sessions in advance.

I offer a discounted rate to Key Workers, Emergency Services/Armed Forces personnel and their families. I also offer a discounted rate to students.

48 hours notice is required to change or cancel an appointment or full payment is due.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions you will need depends on what you wish to work on in our sessions. I offer both short term and long-term counselling.

Where are you located?

My therapy room is conveniently located opposite Woking mainline station. With frequent trains and an easy journey time of approximately 25 minutes from London Waterloo, you could be in the therapy room within 30 minutes of leaving London Waterloo.

The room is located on the first floor and unfortunately there is no lift.

There are several car parks serving Woking town centre, details of which can be found here: Woking Parking.
