How I can help

How I can help

Do you find yourself asking "Why did I do or say that?". Perhaps you are fed up of feeling like a passenger and not in control of your own life, compromised, manipulated, lost or just plain fed up.

There are many reasons that people come for counselling and psychotherapy, one of the fundamental reasons is because they no longer want to feel the way they have been feeling.

I offer a non-judgmental, confidential space for individuals and couples, to explore what can be confusing and difficult aspects of life, relationships and marriage, with a qualified professional. Working together in this supportive therapeutic space, you can safely explore and make sense of often difficult and confusing thoughts, behaviours, experiences and emotions.

You are not broken, you do not need fixing. You may have learned and developed behaviours and coping strategies that may have been beneficial to you in the past, however, they may no longer serve you, they may now be hindering you. These are not behavioural problems that need to be addressed, they are survival skills that need to be understood. My role in your journey is to work with you to bring about a level of true self-awareness that empowers and enables you to regain confidence, control and find balance.

Perhaps you are experiencing differing or conflicting views and struggling to communicate about finances, common goals or personal decisions that may also have an impact on others. You may feel anxiety, fear, shame or embarrassment, feelings and emotions which conspire to keep us from talking about important issues, our attitudes towards finances, and improving our circumstances.

When explored, we tend to find that it is our emotions that drive us, logic has very little to do with it. Our experiences, our dreams, our fears, and our inadequacies are causes of conflict within ourselves and within our relationships. Exploring these thoughts, feelings and emotions can enable you to recognise what drives you and understand how these drivers impact you and your relationships.

It is the quality of the relationship between client and counsellor which provides the foundation for successful therapy.   As a person-centred counsellor I believe that we all instinctively know what is best for ourselves.  I aim to support this very personal process of exploration and growth and help clients to look at and come to terms with any feelings, behaviours, issues and experiences which can sometimes leave us feeling lost, stuck or disturbed.

Whether Face to Face in my comfortable therapy room in central Woking or through Online (Teletherapy) sessions which are conducted over the internet using a secure, encrypted platform, I provide a confidential and supportive space for individuals and couples to explore confusing or difficult aspects of life in a respectful, non-judgemental and accepting environment.

I will not give you advice or solve problems for you. We will listen to and explore your story, enabling you to understand yourself better so you can identify and change any unhelpful behaviours and patterns in your life.

Together we will bring about a level of true self-awareness that will enable you to regain control and find balance.
